Khmer Language

The Khmer language is a pretty difficult language to learn.  It is not a tonal language like Chinese, and there are so many vowels!  The language that it is most similar to is French because when one pronounces “b” and “p” it sounds very different from English.  I learned one new phrase today since we only had 15 mins of language learning.  We mostly went through how certain words fit together, how there is a need to have a consonant and a vowel, whereas an independent vowel can stand by itself.  I learned how to say “How are you?”
