Efficiency
I realized that I’m rather efficient when I’m not looking at Facebook! It should be a logical assumption, but after deactivating it, I’m twice as fast in doing work. I just finished editing and writing my essay for D-lab, and now I’m onto my American Lit essay on how the books The Woman Warrior and Housekeeping talk about memory and forgetting. It’s a really interesting topic, and I’m excited to write about it. But it’s so confusing because Housekeeping is a novel that embraces the idea of transience…where nothing is structured, where lines are blurred and life and identity are no longer bound to anything. You’re just a part of nature. Anyways, this was supposed to be my 5 minute break, but I also want to share about what I did in D-lab today!
We focused on water testing today, where we took a sample of water from the Charles River and tested it for E-Coli and other bacteria. It was a lot of fun, lots of pipettes and chemicals. :) In 24 hours, we can see if there is a lot of bacteria. Using these appropriate technologies, we’ll be able to implement it in January and test the safety of the water in those developing countries. I’m so excited about January, but also anxious!!!!!
